The Tiny Genius That Actually Listens
The WhalesBot Pubbo Air is easily the most impressive piece of tech I’ve added to our playroom. It’s a responsive, interactive companion that manages to bridge the gap between a fun toy and a serious STEM learning tool without feeling like a chore. The voice and touch controls are incredibly intuitive; a simple tap wakes it up, and seeing its HD screen light up with different emojis makes it feel more like a digital pet than a plastic machine. The coding aspect is where this bot really stands out. The app uses a Scratch-based interface that is simple enough for my child to navigate solo but deep enough to teach actual programming logic through games and challenges. With nine built-in sensors, it can follow lines, avoid obstacles, and even react to light and sound, providing immediate feedback for every line of code written. It’s sturdy, holds a charge for a solid four hours, and has successfully convinced my kid that engineering is actually fun. If you’re looking for a gift that will actually keep their interest past the first afternoon, this is it.

Pretty Amazing Rosie the Robot
I bought this thinking, “Okay, this will keep my kid busy for maybe an hour or so.”I was wrong. Very wrong.Out of the box, this little robot that I have named Rosie, a play on the cartoon show The Jetsons, if you are from that era. Rosie already has personality. She feels sturdy, not like one of those toys you’re afraid to touch too hard. Everything was neatly packed, with nothing missing and nothing confusing. Big win right there. Because if this were another package with a ton of parts and confusing directions, she would have stayed right there in the box.The setup was, in fact, more straightforward than expected. The instructions were clear enough that I didn’t have to reread the same sentence five times. Charging was simple, and pairing it with the app didn’t turn into a tech support situation, which automatically earns bonus points in my book.As for what it does… a lot. It moves, reacts, follows paths, avoids obstacles, responds to voice commands, and displays expressions on the screen, as if it actually knows what’s going on. At one point, I started to tell Rosie all of my life problems. There are different ways to control it too — remote, voice, and the app — so it doesn’t get boring after one play session. I find myself playing with Rosie more than I do with my own kid now. Something must be wrong with me. lol The funniest part is watching how invested the other adults in the house get compared to the kid.Overall, this was way more entertaining than expected and actually well thought out. It’s fun, easy to use, and doesn’t feel cheaply made. If you’re looking for something that’s equal parts entertaining and quietly educational — without driving you up the wall — this is it. So far the battery does last quite awhile, I think we have charged it twice over the last two weeks that is with frequent use too. At least once or twice a day.Would buy again. Would recommend. Would probably still talk to it even if it was not the coolest stem robot out there. Ha

The Ultimate STEM Companion: Fun, Smart, and Future-Ready
The WhalesBot Pubbo Air is far more than just a toy; it’s a legitimate educational platform disguised as an incredibly fun and responsive robot companion. The most immediate win for us was the interactive design. Watching our child simply tap the robot and have it “come alive” with expressive HD screen emojis and animations instantly sparked their imagination. It successfully bridges the gap between passive screen time and hands-on technological interaction, making it a perfect tool for sparking early curiosity in robotics and engineering principles. The build quality feels sturdy, which is a must for the target age range. From a control standpoint, the versatility is impressive. Our kids can interact with Pubbo Air in multiple ways: using voice commands, a dedicated remote control, or the companion app. The ability to design custom sound effects and emoji combinations via the app truly gives them agency over their robotic friend, encouraging creative expression alongside technical control. This multi-modal input system caters to different developmental stages, ensuring both younger and older children in the recommended 6-10 age group can enjoy and master the controls.Where Pubbo Air truly shines is in its STEM and coding integration. The platform makes learning programming incredibly accessible—even for kids with no prior experience. The Pubbo App utilizes a modular, Scratch-based coding environment that teaches real programming logic through engaging, game-based quests. It transforms abstract concepts like sequencing and logic into cartoon-style challenges, making the learning curve feel like an adventure rather than a lesson. This playful approach ensures that the foundational concepts of computational thinking are built upon successfully.Beyond the screen, the hands-on opportunities for critical thinking and problem-solving are invaluable. We’ve spent hours coding Pubbo Air to execute real-world tasks, like navigating complex mazes and responding to light and sound sensors built into the unit. These activities aren’t just entertainment; they directly strengthen logical reasoning and spatial awareness. The inclusion of nine different sensors means the learning potential is deep, allowing kids to continuously explore new coding challenges as their skills advance, solidifying a strong foundation for future technological fluency. For any parent looking for a thoughtful, long-lasting gift that supports active, imaginative play while stealthily delivering significant STEM education, the Pubbo Air is the best option we’ve found. It transitions smoothly from a fun interactive companion on a slow afternoon to a sophisticated coding challenge during an after-school session. It’s an investment in both fun and future skills. Highly recommended for making learning about technology engaging and inspiring!

A fun robot for learning programming or just to have fun with
I got this for my 10-year-old son for Christmas. He loves robots, and this one is a lot of fun. Out of the box it can do quite a bit with just the remote control, which is a nice change from having to use an app. It’s easy to assemble (putting the main face on, though it will work without it); my son was able to do it no problem. With voice commands and the remote you can have it dance, sing, and zoom around easily. He wasn’t interested in learning to program yet; we’ll work on that when he’s interested. But the robot itself is a lot of fun even if you don’t. It is well-made and balances well. It can really scoot, too! A great introductory robot, highly recommended.
